When dealing with a MAF or MAF converted car the answer in short is no.  With the Fox Mustangs there are a several variations with regards to the O2 sensors, trans (auto vs. manual), and EEC.  This is a pretty good matrix:

AOD O2 harness and A9L/A3M computer = bad (fried ECM, usually the trace on PIN 46)
5 speed O2 harness and A9P = will work (but again isn't correct as is will not allow codes to be pulled)

If you are running O2's, you must match the O2 harness to the computer.

AOD O2 harness and A9P computer = good
5 speed O2 harness and A9L or A3M = good

The other thing that I have heard but have not personally seen is that the '87 5.0 Mustang EEC harness is void of the wiring needed for the loop signal return off the O2 harness so even if you do the MAF conversion with that harness and have to correct O2 harness for the trans and EEC the computer will not receive the return signal and go into limp mode.

With all of that said the only thing I can tell you is that if you are running an A9L then get an O2 harness from an 89-93 Mustang for a manual trans car and that will be the correct harness.  Then you will need to confirm if the T-Bird/Cougar EEC harness has the necessary signal return wiring to take the loop from the O2 harness back the EEC.

I'm running an X3Z '93 Cobra computer. I have the factory Thunderbird harness that was modded years ago for Mass Air.

Quality Auto Specialties on Ebay sells a brand new harness for a 5 speed. I may have to look into that.

With the 93 Cobra setup you will need a 90-93 O2 harness. Again, verify that the Bird EEC harness has the looped signal rerun wires in it. If they are missing the EEC will run rich.

Which wire is that? I think that the 88 Thunderbirds/Cougars must at least have it. If not I would think I would have some kind of codes indicating it was missing.

Edit: this might help: http://forums.corral.net/forums/general-mustang-tech/1483209-1987-maf-conversion.html

Read the whole thing. The SD wiring harness still has the wiring. It's just different from the MAF cars. If you have no codes 91 or 41, or 92 or 42 your car's harness is fine. CHECK FOR THOSE CODES before you buy a new harness and save yourself some money you don't need to spend.

That was a good read.  I never messed with an '87 car so I just remembered this coming up on the Corral when was researching what I would need to I converted my Coupe from a 4 cylinder to a 5.0 back in 2002.  I ended up just buying all '92-'93 stuff and a manual trans O2 harness.  I am tempted to edit my previous post but I am going to leave it alone so that if someone reads this it will continue to debunk the whole SD to MAF issue with regards to the harnesses.  What a great catch man, and Vinnie I do apologize if any of that confused you.

A factory o2 harness along with the engine harness both for an 87-88 Thunderbird or Cougar will work WITH AN AUTO MAF ECU.  As Aerocoupe stated,  the Mustang had a few different variations.  Ford got cute and made everything difficult.

Best bet is to see if you can find an EVTM pinout for a 93 Cobra with regards to the o2 sensor wires and SIGTRN.  FWIW I can't find shiznit for pin #30 for our cars..... I do know my C3W1 works with my stock wiring though......
