Mustang gas tank in t-bird? September 17, 2014, 08:01:26 PM Just wondering if a fox body mustang gas tank will fit into my 86 t bird. I really want that stealth fuel tank setup from aeromotive, and really don't want to do a fuel cell.Any input? Quote Selected
Mustang gas tank in t-bird? Reply #1 – September 17, 2014, 08:36:30 PM I don't believe that the stang tank will work. I read/heard that there is a difference. Not sure on that though. I'm going to use this in my car. Just a thought. http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/stealth-fuel-systems/phantom-system/phantom-340-efi-return-style-installation-kit/ Quote Selected

Mustang gas tank in t-bird? Reply #3 – September 19, 2014, 10:50:42 PM Fox stang tanks have a large hump on one side. Not going to work unless you want to cut a big hole on one side of your trunk floor.I ended up sumping my factory tank. Total cost was about $1200 in parts with Fuelab 140gph external pump, pre and post filters -8 feed, -6 return lines plus fittings, Turbojoe rail and a Aeromotive FPR. That doesn't include the $400 for the 160lb injectors though.A bit overkill but I am running E-85 and want plenty of fuel. Only drawback is the sump hanging under the bird screams racecar and every tom, dick and harry seems to want to race me everywhere I go, lol. Quote Selected
