O2 Sensor wires September 04, 2014, 06:40:00 AM I have a stock mustang H-pipe I will install soon. Will I need the extensions for my O2 sensors? Can I get the ones from Late Model Resto? My car has the AOD if that will make a difference. Quote Selected
O2 Sensor wires Reply #1 – September 04, 2014, 08:26:08 AM I welded up the original co2 bung and had my exhaust shop guy put a new one in further up the pipe. He had to be really careful where to mount it though because I was still auto at the time and it was really close to the linkage on the drivers side. Quote Selected

O2 Sensor wires Reply #3 – September 04, 2014, 03:34:17 PM They do make harness extenders you can use instead of cutting up your oxygen sensor harness to extend the wires: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/SVE-1676A/Mustang-SVE-50L-46L-SVE-O2-Sensor-ExtensionsYou can just cut and extend the oxygen sensor harness wires (I did that, but make sure you solder the connections) but never cut the oxygen sensor wires. The sensor won't work correctly if you do that. Quote Selected

O2 Sensor wires Reply #5 – September 06, 2014, 07:01:23 AM I know these cars are OBD1 so there is only front sensors that have to be lengthened. With that most extendors are cheap and sometimes they go bad. So we extend the harness plug or use sensors with longer wires, The O2 sensors can not be lengthened because the wire is not solderable. but they can be lengthened by special connectors if that is the way you want to do it. When we build OBD2 cars and need to move the primary or pre cat sensors further back i re-pin the rear connectors and use them for the front sensors. This way it is neat clean and looks factory without extenders or soldering. have a great day guys. Quote Selected

O2 Sensor wires Reply #7 – September 11, 2014, 09:41:56 AM Autozone, O'reillys, etc. get them for a Fox Mustang. One side is longer than the other so have them grab the sensors for both sides. When you see which one is longer have them get another one.At least this is what I did when we relocated the O2's in a buddy's car but it's been a couple years. Darren Quote Selected
