what years....

Time to do some winter upgrades on the 88 Thunderbird,  what year mustang kmember cam I use?  Thanks sorry for dumb question just wanna be 100% sure before I make my purchase

Why on earth would you want to swap though? Chuck W makes the 5.0 mounts that eliminate the special bracket, and our cars have the better control arms vs. the Fox Stang. Keep in mind the '94-5 Stang's K member is identical to ours, save the engine mount style.

Thanks^^^ more concerned about weight I know its not much gonna be more of a drag car than street,  also not  gonna ne using the stock 302 anymore (hopefully ) an gonna use a motor plate..

In that case..yeah, any aftermarket K for a Fox will bolt on, of course, you WILL have to finagle a couple bolt holes out though, but that's the norm.

If you are going to use the car at all on the street, I would recommend against using a motor plate, especially if using an automatic trans. In addition, I would seriously recommend that you use sub-frame connectors to stiffen the chassis before I would even consider a motor plate. Otherwise, the torque being absorbed by the motor mounts will be transferred to the chassis, a flaw that the fox platform is notoriously famous for being weak.

So would I be better off going with the 94-95 kmember?  If its identical?  Or stick with 79-93 stuff?


Sub frames connectors are on the to do list.. will regular Mustang ones work? Thanks again guys

Flat stock cut to length works perfect for our cars for subframs. Get some square tube, cut and weld, done.

Use ANY 86-95 mustan k-member, and if your using a motor plate, the motor mounts are really just there to help you line up the motor plate anyways, so, I would really just focus on what suspension components you want to run on the front end, and pick the k-member that will work best for you.
