Power door locks solenoid differences November 06, 2012, 10:17:47 PM Check this outOne solenoid with E3 manufacturer code date compared to one solenoid within E7 code manufacture date. One solenoids actuator is straight while the other is hookedIn order to make it work on my 87 car I have to cut off the hookApparently Ford made solenoids in the year 87 so that they would show up on 88 vehicles and beyond this is why my 87 20th does not have this solenoidWhat I'm saying is my 87 vehicle has an 83 door lock solenoid Quote Selected
Power door locks solenoid differences Reply #1 – November 06, 2012, 10:36:33 PM It depends on the options on the car. The latch mechanism was different for cars with keyless entry, so the solenoid hook was also different. I've seen 3 different types over the years. The rods all interchange, BTW. Quote Selected
