More HP without racegas

If i got a ported aluminum head from Boport (he said he can get them flowing up to 275cfm on the intake side) I can run more boost and make more hp on pump gas than what i can on a stage 3 boport iron head?

Kind of loaded question, way too many variables to answer intelligently!

Here are a few things that might lead you a bit father down the road:

The additional flow should result in a reduction in restriction (assuming there is no bottle neck in the intake or exhaust track).  With lower restriction, the same combination you've been running will indicate it is making less boost, but will make more power (boost is only a measure of restriction).

If your current combination does not detonate at a certain level of boost now, it is possible you may be able to crank the boost back up to that level and be OK (and make even more power!).

The difference in material between Iron and Aluminum may have some play, but IAT's  & AFR are what's important to monitor as boost goes up.  They tell the story of where your at safely.

The key to making big power on pump gas is using a supplemental fuel system in the form of Meth Injection.  There are quite a number on the market.  In my research (and experience with a brand I won't recommend), I believe Alky Controls has a great product.  Yes, it's more money, but cheaper than repairing a melt down!

Go to coolcats.net and read the upgrade information.

Your mounts will be easy, you *should* have the mustang style.

Price changes depending on where you are.

Start a new thread, and let's see some pictures of you car.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
