Tail Light Guide June 17, 2005, 09:30:43 PM can anyone tell me which wires go to what on the taillight harness? im swapping the existing 84 cougar tail lights for 85-86 cougar tail lights, i have the harness from the 85-86. are wire colors the same? if so would that mean i can cut and splice the wires to the same colors in the harness? any help would be nice... doing the swap right now Quote Selected
Re: Tail Light Guide Reply #1 – June 17, 2005, 11:49:00 PM honestly, its very unlikely that the wire colors will be the same, as long as you didnt cut the existing harness, you could probably figure out what each wire does and then adapt it to the newer lights Quote Selected
Re: Tail Light Guide Reply #2 – June 18, 2005, 12:48:49 AM it worked using the same colors... only difference is 85-86 harness has 2 black grounds 84 has 1 so i put em together. didnt think anything bad would happen.. n it works! :-D ill spend more time on the wiring later... kinda hard to solder int he dark hehe. gotta get some new bulbs tho some are burnt out. thanks again Quote Selected
