Video of the TR7 with Thunderbird engine Reply #2 – March 11, 2011, 10:56:06 PM Man, that is sweet! I've always liked the TR7. I had a model of one as a kid, and ever since then wanted to build one. This one is really really awesome. I'm going to have to read up on your build. Nice work! Quote Selected

I've had a Triumph since I was 21 and in college. I borrowed $200.00 from my girlfriend (now my wife) to pay for a clutch in a 1969 Spitfire I bought for $400.00 from a guys field behind his house. I've had one ever since. The last 2 tickets I got were in a TR7, though. I got those in the 80's sometime. Quote Selected

Thanks, man.The 7 is a nice car, really. I like it because I can get 2 sets of golf clubs in the trunk. Not a lot of sports cars you can do that with. I got low 13's with it with a 2.30 something 60'. It is a solid 12 second car with some track tires for sure. It is docile as a stock TR, my wife and daughter both drive it. Quote Selected

Video of the TR7 with Thunderbird engine Reply #6 – March 12, 2011, 06:55:26 PM Nice. A TR6 on the local classifieds piqued my interest recently, and the first thing that crossed my mind was "2.3 swap"". Quote Selected
Video of the TR7 with Thunderbird engine Reply #7 – March 13, 2011, 12:51:37 AM Originally I was going to swap the 2.3 into a TR250. It's a TR4 outside and a TR6 underneath. Anyway, I wasn't happy with what I'd have to do to get what I wanted out of it, and then the TR7 body came along for $200.00. The rest is just a lot of work, time, and money. Quote Selected

Dale Knapke TR6 Reply #10 – March 13, 2011, 12:50:44 PM This guy and his car is one of the inspirations for my Triumph project. I contacted him early on, and he invited me to his house to share his knowledge and let me take pictures. The ride he gave me was unreal! That car is just sick. He had an unfortunate racing accident and is repairing and rebuilding the car right now. http://www.britishv8.org/Triumph/DaleKnapke.htm Quote Selected
