wheels Reply #2 – December 02, 2010, 03:42:48 AM As far as I know, no 15" wheel was factory available on ANY '87 or '88 Thunderbird. We all know the TC's got the 16" 'flakes....but the Sports had the 14" 8 hole wheels, and lesser models had steel wheels with wire covers. I *think* all the wire hubcap-covered wheels were 14 inchers, but I may be wrong...Turbines came on the XR7 factory, but not the Birds... Quote Selected

All ’83-’86 non TC & XR-7 Thunderbirds and Cougars came with 14” wheels or the optional TRX metric wheels. The only exception was the 30th Anniversary Thunderbird of 1985 which did have the 15" 10-holes.All ’87-’88 non TC & XR-7 Thunderbirds and Cougars came with 14” wheels only’84 XR-7 and ’83-’84 Turbo Coupe came with 14” wheels or the optional TRX wheels.’85-’86 Turbo Coupe and ’85-’88 XR-7 came with 15” wheels only with no optional sizes.’87-’88 Turbo Coupe had 16” wheels only.
