using the regular mail

the question is this...
using regular mail to send in bills or letters, cards ect...
How often does the regular mail let you down.

in my experience, its a 99.9% (a close 100%) chance that all mail i send out will in fact reach its far end destination.

The odds are against you that your mail will not reach the intened person or business.  I have been paying bills via mail for years and years , never really ever can remember having a problem.

it goes in the box, it gets there.

The subject isnt about comments of "one time this,, or one time that",, its about your impression of how accurate the USPS is and how often there could be the possibility they let you down.

I cant remember the last time they let me down.

Having sent out thousands of parcels over the past eight years I can say that USPS/Canada Post are generally very good. I think over all those years I've only had to file insurance claims for lost parcels four or five times. The only issues I had were speed (this is US Customs fault, not USPS) and the fact that they rarely scan bar codes on the US side. Tracking info would show the parcel's progress every step right up to the border, then nothing else until it was actually delivered (and often not even then).

Funny you'd mention this...I had a m/o sent out about a week or so ago, 2 days later, my carrier brought it back, ripped in half.

Only time the USPS has dropped the ball, that I can remember.

Story has a happy ending as well, I was able to replace the m/o without paying the amount all over again. :D

sending stuff(boxed) out and them recieving it has never been a problem with me, its when "I" have to recieve something thats the problem.
on that end it doesnt matter if its ups or postal they have always lets me down every time.
i wish i were able to just go and pick stuff up instead but seems most frown apon that these days for some reason.

With all of the  (I mean, valuable merchandise) I have bought and sold over the years, I can't EVER remember the USPS letting me down. I will use them as my first choice every time I possibly can. Having said that, I have had great luck with other carriers as well, like FedEx and UPS.

I've only been once let down by them and it was likely the "sellers" fault. I think they are very reliable. Probably the only well run government "business".
