What a gift!

My wife gave me the okay to buy the engine I wanted for the cougar. A freshly rebuilt 351W with all the things it needs except a carb and trans but its loads ahead of where I was before! Hopefully the guy takes my lowball offer. Also, thanks go to Dan and Paula and their helping my wife! You are wonderful people!

No idea why someone would paint it Chevy orange though...

Cool...hope ya get it, although I am jealous a little lol.

I don't know why people paint Chevy engines orange..just shows the leaks all the easier.

You have blue or gray paint, right? ;)

Okay well the 351 was a good deal and all but I ended up going with a rebuilt 306 instead, methinks it may have a little money put into it (I.e. Cam) for $100. Main drawback is its a non roller 302 block :( but I'm sure I can make something work. All in all I'm just glad to have an engine.

Engine is home!

Well I went to get my short block yesterday and was pretty happy with the 306 over the 351W so I wwent with it. As it turns out it has a E8 crank, the sought after 70's rods (Unsure which ones now), D7 or D8 block (Non roller :raspberry) and is set up to run a serpentine system. All in all I was happy with my purchase all for $100, but then it got much sweeter he threw in a set of heads which ended up being a set of E7's, a 351W block, a Mustang driveshaft and a full 302 gasket set all for free! Looks like things have managed to work themselves out a bit. On to the pics!

My 306

306 Again

351W block, gotta love freebies!

Free heads

Proof that they are E7's

I have been wanting to get the Cougar at least running and then I was thinking of finding something really unique to swap a SBF into, now I have to BC I have 2 SBF's with no homes!

I keep wanting to make an RX7 or Volvo 240 V8...
