These are tunnelport heads and an intake for a Ford 427 Thunderbolt. These passed through for $6k. Note the path of the pushrods Quote Selected

On a side note, I worked with a guy (he drove dodges) who's "buddy" essentialy abandoned an old Galaxie on my friends property. My friend got to looking it over one day after he'd gotten tired of it and could no longer get a hold of his "buddy". He was pretty shocked to see it had a SOHC 427 in it. I never did find out what he sold the old SOHC for, because he wouldn't tell me.I also wonder if his "buddy" ever came back for the car. I imagine he'd be more that a little upset. Those SOHC engines heads are HUGE. Quote Selected

But very cool...There was also a TP302 that never went into production, engineers found the Boss 302 head would flow more air... There would no doubt been a Boss 427, but the FE design was basically obsolete by the late 60s and was replaced by the 385 series 429 & 460...Technically those heads are not correct for a Thunder Bolt... T-Bolts came with 427 Hi Risers, the TP was yet to see light of day when they were cleaning up on the drag strips... Quote Selected

We dirt tracked, so we never really got any good comparisons between the two. Let's just say they were both fun!! Haven't seen parts like that for years. Thanks for the pics. Quote Selected
