Paint type feeler

Hey peoples  :D  Thought I would throw this out there to get a kind of an idea. Has anyone on here ever used Auto Air Paint?? When I get to that step, I want to have my mind made up and paint purchased. This is what I'm thinking about using on my Bird. This is the website page that shows some of the products. I want to use the Gem Saphire Blue.  http://www.autoaircolors.com/2007AutoAirCat.pdf
What do you all think??

Hmmm....interesting.

When I was airbrushing for a living (many moons ago LOL) I used nothing but Createx paint. It was the first paint I'd used that was extremely consistent and offered a huge range of colors. I've often thought about respraying one of my old guitars, and there's a Createx color that's a dead-on perfect match...but I've also wondered about the durability of water-based paint on a wood surface. Generally I had a lot of luck with it, even after using actual automotive clearcoat on top (no fisheyes, cracking or separations). But that's just a small area...the whole vehicle? I don't know. Again, it's an interesting concept.

I think you'll need to hear from someone who's actually painted a car with it. I agree with Eric, I think it's an interesting concept, but I've never used it. I only use DuPont paints, primers, sealers and top coats, strictly ChromaBase and ChromaClear. Do I use them because they are the best? No, I use them because I am familiar with them. They are definitely good, but I am sure there are tons of other options just as good. Autoair may be even better, I just have never used it personally. Let us know what you find out.

I've heard a lot of good things about the water-based base coats. Not sure about that brand though.
