I don't know what happened with Turtle Wax but like Scott said, in the past (like 1980s-ish) the paste version used to be really difficult to remove. I tried using it on my first '84 back in the day and while it worked quite well, my arms paid for it shortly afterward LOL. Actually for that particular car, Blue Coral worked best because it filled in the scratches nicely (light blue car, light blue wax).

Within the past 3 years I've switched over to using Turtle Wax Platinum liquid wax. It may be discontinued now, as I'm having a very difficult time finding it lately--actually it may have been superceded by the ICE stuff. But same premise: easy on, easy off, no residue, lasts a good long time. I'm disappointed that the ICE wax is so expensive, which has been a major reason why I haven't tried it yet (still have some Platinum left). Maybe when the Platinum runs out I'll give it a go. if you look at the back bottom of the bottle the part number starts i believe with a t. the platnium series is still available in my area.

Its fair stuff,Ive been using it here and there on stuff for about a year.just like any wax wash it with a non detergent soap and it will last a good while.
