the doors,

no it's not about the band from the 60's. I was wondring if the sheetmetal is the same on all the doors from 83-88. I've read that the trim is in a different place, but is the sheetmetal the same?

83-86 tbird and cougar doors are the same [E5SZ]
87and 88 door are the same [E7SZ]
not interchangeable as far as i know
the 84-6 did use the 87-8 standard hood though
each series offered a door with or without the
keyless entry hole too

ummm, well I am looking for doors for a 84 TC,

however shipping from NY to IL might be a killer on those. I think I am going to need to have the rust repaired and patches welded on.

You can use the doors. I had a friend with a 88XR7 with 86 TC style doors. The glass was not flush like the 88's should have been. Other then the spray paint, Nobody that knew any better would have suspected a thing.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
