T5 speedo gear question

When I junked the TC I saved the speed sensor and the white speedo gear, knowing I'd some day have a T5 in the T-Bird. I thought I was home free - since the rear came out of the same TC I'd already have the correct speedo gear. Then I started remembering that T-Bird AOD's have a different tooth count on the output shaft than Mustang AOD's. Now I'm wondering if that's the case for the T5's as well? Would my '88 5.0 T5 have the same output shaft tooth count as the '87 TC T5 that my speedo gear is out of? Anyone know this, or know where someone could find the info?
