Another one for the stanger (Fuel injectors)

Aside from the starter, this being completely seperate, and I'll do at  a later date. According to my oh so awesomely accurate A/F gauge that only meters the drivers side bank =P (Insert sarcasm here) I lean out around 4k. I think, hard to look up and down and left at the same time. but diffenently leaning out towards the upper range. Who the hell knows if I can even base anything off of this. But the question is, I've got a butt ton of white top injectors out of V6 taurus' They're Denso parts, I don't have one in front of me to give you a part number, tomarrow. Question is, are these 24lb injectors, and some say they will work alright in my speed density car, and some say they don't know, I'm tempted to try them. Anyone here who can enlighten me a bit more on that subject.
Thanks

Not 100% sure but i know the fms 24s are blue tops.
The (light show) a/f ratio meters are not very accurate but it should indicate dead rich on accel up past 4000 to be sure.
What's your combo???
Stock SO 5.0L's run out of power at just over 4000rpm anyways and only ran 16lb(i think)injectors(may have been 14lb can't remember)24s would be way to wuch for a stock so,there even a little overkill for a stock HO.
Fuel pump may be your problem.

HP figures in the last chart are based upon a BSFC of .5 IIRC...

No matter how much injector you have, if you do NOT have enough pump you will have issues...

ALMOST FORGOT!

Fuel requirement in lbs./hr = (Max HP x BSFC) / (number of injectors x duty cycle) Most OEM manufacturers like to keep duty cycle at .80 to .85

If you want to mess with fuel pressure (provided you have enough pump to do so)
New flow rating = [square root of (new pressure /old pressure)] x old flow rating

Example:
New flow rating = [square root of (45 PSI / 39.6 PSI)] x 20.0 lbs./hr = 21.3 lbs./hr

You also have to take into account that a forced induction engine almost always has a higher BSFC than a N/A engine of similar size and power (I.E stock motor w/ a centrifugal blower vs. a H/C/I motor both producing equal peak power.)

My white tops might be a bust by the sounds of it, I do have EV6 style 19s, will those drop in even?

The car is an 88 stang, SD 5.0 with stock bottom end and heads, cobra intake, bbk cai, bbk headers, hpipe, flow40s, 373s, 70mm TB, timing I think somewhere near 15 or 16 initial, adj fpr set at 43psi, stock fuel pump I would assume. aod w/ shiftkit, MSD cap/rotor/coil
I couldn't tell ya what plugs at the moment, but suggestions on soem good ones would be nice. AC/smog/EGR and heat, all deleted. the egr position sensor is plugged in but seperated from the valve, and all engine sensors are new.

The electrical connectors will almost assuredly be different between the EV1 connector (stock on your 88) and the EV6 connector.  Other than that they will swap.
A set of 8 conversion connectors will run you over $100 though....

19 pound injectors are fine for your setup.  Back the pressure off to 40 PSI.  Make sure you are reading the pressure with the vacuum line disconnected.  Pull your initial timing to 14* BTDC as well.

Hmm.  Got a picture of that?

The connectors are the same. Good thing, cuz my EV6 injectors look to be in better shape.
I don't have a picture, but unscrew the position sensor from the EGR valve housing, pitch the valve, let the position sensor hang there, it'll read as WOT, and the provision on the intake manifold is blocked off of course. It works to keep from throwing a light, but the computer still counts it at WOT, probably not the best solution but it works.

You having the stock fuel pump is most likely your issue.
It's Gumby's fault.

Well in that case.  I was already planning on getting a pump somewhere down the road, Whats a  fine pump to be using these days? Any ideas? That might be the next thing I'll try.
