I'm 1/4 converted to 5 lug

Today I took off the only wheel on my parts t-bird that doesn't have a lock lug (I don't have the key for the rest) on it to see if I could use the rotor, assuming its a lincoln/svo. Well it went on beutifully with the spacer so I'm pretty sure its a lincoln/svo rotor. I would have the other front side converted but like stated earlier I don't have the key and I can't get the  thing off. My buddy even brought his welder over and we welded all kinds of shiznit to it but the welds just kept breaking. That sob is on there! The rear will be converted as soon as I get motivation to take the pre converted rearend out of my parts car and put it in. But boy I tell ya what, that one 17" looks  good on there lol. I heard I can hammer a thin wall socket on to the lock lug and just use a ratchet so I'll try that tommorow. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Patrick.

pneumatic hammer/air chisel is what is used by some shops. just chisel it at an angle on the outside of the lug, should eventually come off

they also have a tool for this. its a socket with a knerled and tapered inside. tap it on and impact away.

You could try picking up a set of bolt extractors from sears. Afterwards you'll have to replace the lugnuts.

Try hammering an old socket onto it and taking it off, i've heard of people doing that before.

I've used a air grinder to cut a couple of flats into them, then used vice grips to get em off...

my shop had the key set, iv never heard of places useing a air chissle to get em off, chances are if they have locks the wheels are cared enough about to not want them gouged out by a slipped air chisle. what shape is the lock? theirs only about 20 different styles or so, chances are you could probley hit up pepboys and find the one your looking for. if not that, do what tom suggested with the grinder, you have more control over that then the chissle. iv had to do that with a few different things.

Well if it comes down to it take a center punch and punch the center of the lug nut and start drilling. Start with smaller bits and work your way up to larger. You will have to replace the lug but that easy.

The lock lugs are so hard they'll be tough to drill.

Reminds me of why  I had to cut the flats... Had a TC without the lug key, so I went through the keys I've collected, and walla... perfect match. But it don't fit..^$%#%$#@.. After stareing at it and the lug for a couple of minutes it hit me... PERFECT MATCH!! You dumb ass it has to be a mirror image of the lug not a match!!! Needless to say I didn't have one with the mirror image...

I beat a socket on with the sledge and that sucker came rights off so needless to say I got the other wheel and rotor on. So now i'm 1/2 way converted. I just got an air compressor and I'm borrowing some of my buddys air tools to get started on that rear end in the morning. I went to the junkyard and found a good taurus fan. I only paid 12 bucks for it. I think I found a mark 8 fan laying on the ground. I hid that. What would be a good/ cheap way to wire the taurus fan up. I've heard of that dc controler and it seems to be the best option but my guess is it's too expensive for me. Anybody know how much it is?

Just got a MarkVII that's been converted from airbag to spring suspension, gonna be takin' the axle and the front end parts to put on the white '88 for the 5 lug conversion, also plan on putting on some good shocks, struts, and some lowering springs, to put in at the same time.
I gotta act fast, axle bearing is going bad on the 7.5 that's in the car now...
also, the windshield is good in the car, so now I can have good glass in the 'Bird!

The mark7 doesn't have a engine or trans, but I didn't pay much for it either...
will keep posting on progress with this mod...
(not gonna put cobra R's on it either, thinkin' of the Bullit rims though!)
if ya look really close in the pic below, just behind the antenna, you can see the crack in the windshield-it runs along the top driver side, then goes down on the pass. side all the way across...for once I didn't break it!
