Dixie Square Mall Reply #2 – August 29, 2008, 12:05:21 AM This is one of my favorite movies of all time (I've also been to many locations in and around the city that are in this movie, but not Dixie square mall). People don't know this but the Dixie square mall was actually closed before the Movie was shot. The movie company actually restocked the mall (and filled the parking lot with BRAND NEW cars) to shoot the chase. The mall has been closed since the movie finished filming. It was finally supposed to be torn down late last year but I don't know if it was or not. Oh and the part in the movie when they're driving 120 mph under the "L" tracks downtown they didn't speed up the film. They actually drove 120 mph under the tracks on a Sunday morning. Here's the trailer if you haven't seen the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjGfnsjdJec&feature=related Quote Selected

It has to be one of the most short lived malls anywhere, opened 1966, closed in 1979...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-BWqY6LuW8&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEhaEG83g3A&NR=1 Quote Selected

Harvey (where the mall is) is one of the porrest Chicago suburbs, in addition to being corrupt as hell (it makes the City of Chicago government look clean:hick: ) the down is dying from industry moving away.
