E- brake cable

My Emergency brake cable broke from the handle under the dash to the mechanism that releases it. It is a short cable. Does anybody know where to get this part? Is it available in the aftermarket or from Ford? If not does anyone have a car they parting out that would like to sell me one? It is a pain in the neck trying to reach under the dash to release it.
Thanks

It should be available at parts stores...I was successful at Pep Boys to get all the e-brake cables I've ever needed.

That's an odd problem to have. Honestly I can't recall anyone ever saying that happened before. Congratulations! :hick:

In Mom's Cougar it broke at the handle as well, until we find the new piece we have just been using a pairs of pliers to pull on the cable :hick:  Thankfully there is enough cable to grab :D

Thanks for the info guys - I will try calling some parts stores.
BTW - If you reach under the dash you could release it without using a pair of pliers.
