donut spare

This may sound silly... but; there has never been a spare tire in the car, only found the j-hook and wing nut. I finally "scored" a donut spare, jack and tire iron. I'm unsure exactly how to mount it in the trunk. Apparently I've mounted it like the full size and this doesn't leave enough room in the trunk for stuff. I found the other hook higher on the LH deck foward on the trunk with a metal brace(C-protrusion) sticking up from the floor. Does anyone have a picture of how to mount this properly in an 85 cougar(no left wheel well provisions on this older model)? Pictures are worth a thousand words. Then if I could only find a spare tire cover...:shoothead

There is a place for a mini spare in the well on the 87-88's. I remember there being room in my old 86, but I'm probably wrong there. I belive it is in the middle of the trunk. Only pic I have seen of one was somewhere in damiacs thread. Good luck, I don't have all day to do it for you ;).

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
