88 XR7 header stripe? May 08, 2008, 12:26:13 PM does anyone have a front picture of the header stripe[factory only]. the brochure doesnt show it all. theheader on mine was repainted over 10 years ago andthe stripe kit i have from one i worked on in 88 didnt includeit even though i only used the r 1/4 and door.whoeverworked on it only brought the stripe around each cornerand came to a tip.what little i can see in the brochurelooks like it goes all the way around the header. can anyone shed some light? thanks!--irv Quote Selected
88 XR7 header stripe? Reply #1 – May 08, 2008, 01:20:03 PM The stripes do go around the front onto the header panel. They come to a point right above the edge of the grille, so about 1/3 of the way around the front on each side. Offhand I don't have any photos of that but I'll see if I can't dig one up for you. Reply #3 – May 08, 2008, 02:29:49 PM the original kit that i had from 20 years ago doesnt evenhave it in it. it was used at my shop on a 2 mo old car.whoever repainted my header only went about 6". now that i look at your pictures i think i like the shorterstripe even though its not correct. i dont even know whatmade me think about this. thanks Eric! The info was passed to me by its current owner.The bottom photo has a strange "Track Cat" emblem on the trunklid. Other than the ground effects kit, that was the only mod to the car.
