might be geting a 88 turbo

i might be buying a 88 t-bird turbo with less than 110k on it. just looking to see what i need to look out for with the turbo. all i have are the v8s so i dont know alot about the turbos to much. i if i get it im plaing on keeping a 4 bang because of gas prices.

88 5.0L H.O with 5 speed R.I.P
87 3.8L no trans. geting h.o and 5speed (project never ending thunder) started it as of 8-14-10

Sweet, I'm currently looking also....mostly for parts though. If you can get to the turbo, check for axial and radial movement. If it moves too much or you see excessive oil the turbo is bad.
88 TC with 93 GT 5.0 (.030 over), XE266HR Compcam, SVO 1.6 Roller Rockers, BBK underdrives, BBK 1 5/8" headers, 2 1/2" exhuast with Americian Thunder Flowmaster lers. Tremec 5 speed and 3.73's and alot of other goodies to list.....
