Radiator for Volvo FMIC?

Which year/engine Ranger had the right size radiator to fit with the Volvo IC?  I'm thinking of buying a brand new one.  Can't remember for the life of me where I read the info...

Also, when sites like Summit list a 'core width', is that just the measure of the fins, or are the side reservoirs included in this measurement?

not sure about witch ranger or engine. But yes the core is the finned part of the rad.
84 Turbo coupe 2.3T Modded with 88 upper and lower intake, 88 injectors, E6 manifold, T3-4 AR.60 turbo, 31X12X3 FMIC, Homemade MBC , Greddy knock off BPV.

With my Capri, I went the Explorer radiator route, got the thick aluminum one. The difference is that the Explorer one puts the radiator outlets on what I percieve as the "right" sides (both will work).


If you go to this link, and just keep clicking "next" on the upper right side, it will kind of take you through step by step pictures of mountin a NPR (same width as volvo). explorer rad, radiator hoses, and fan in my Capri.

I can answer specifc questions as needed. The pictures sure arent detailed, but might give you the idea. I'm real happy with the set-up in my car. The radiator hoses are modified stockers (just a little tpuppies) and the fan I used is a Proform (black magic knockoff) from Jegs for a 5.0 Mustang. Around $100.00 at the time, but I thin ka little more now.

Thanks for the info!

I actually have been running the Volvo IC since January with a Mazda B2000 radiator and a ProComp 16" fan, but there's definitely some blockage in there (I pulled it from the junkyard, who knows how long it sat).  This thing just runs too hot!

Does a thinner radiator cool better than a thicker one?
