Voltage regulator letters March 02, 2005, 03:42:07 PM can ANYONE point me in the right direction as to what the I A S F stands for on the voltage regulator...its where the plug goes in. This would be an 84 3.8 cougar with external voltage regulator.. im having er..charging problems...that can result in a fire if i hook up the battery....lol need to know what goes where to make sure wires are in the right place and not accidently grounding out.... when i hook up the battery's negative terminal the batt wire from the alternator gets hot n starts to smoke if i leave it on too long :-| need help soon this is my only car thanks yall Quote Selected
