kickdown linkage help

Well.... as some of ya know im stickin the 88 3.8 into my 86 cougar.  my MAIN question is.  my cougar has the c5 trans in it so it has a kickdown linkage vs the cable like the aod that came with the 88 3.8..  what i need to know.... is there a way i can get the kickdown rod to work with the 88 intake set up? or possibly convert the c5 to a cable kick down?

another thing ill ask if yall know.... would the flywheel for the 86 3.8 match up and be balanced the same as the 88 3.8? or if i can use the AOD flywheel?

from what ive read the aod flexplates have different counterweights(5.0 oz) than the c5 ones(5.4 oz)
the imbalance should be different between the sefi and cfi flexplates as well.

sorry i cant help you on the kickdown question, i dont see how it would work:crazy:

well i found a solution to the kickdown.... go cable on the c5 :-D lokar has a kit for it... stainless steel is the cheapest one they have @ 63 dollars or so thru jegs.  c4 kickdown cable will work for c5 :-d.  i shall soon figure out the flexplates....  main thing is... IF the c5 torque convertor bolts to the AOD flexplate then all is well and should work fine.... the flexplate demensions are the same..  14.23 inches in diameter, 164 tooth 12 pitch for the info i can find
