Mack trucks Reply #1 – March 07, 2008, 07:48:05 PM some what..but i have drove quite a few..at my last job in Brooklyn NY 1976 dm 225hp with a leach 25 yard garbage body and a dual stick "low haul!" 1978 dm 225hp single stick 5spd with the same body.. 25 yard 2001 350hp mack with a 8 spd road ranger,31 yard 2004 450hp mack granite.. this had a 6 spd auto.. boring! all had engine brakes.. and an 84 autocar 25 yard 325hp with a 8 spd road ranger "old style" shift pattern..--- 1 4 throw. 5 8low 2 3 switch 6 7 i loved that transmission you had to shift it like i pro stock race car :D not a mack fun to drive in the narrow streets of Brooklyn.. :D you need a telescope to see over the nose of that truck.. all the old macks and the autocar had no lers just straight pipes for a long time.. deafening .. until the law said to put the lers back on.. lol i guess the people in town did'nt like getting woken up at 3am:evilgrin: and meny other macks at other jobs.. i drove about a half a dozen macks with a dual stick low hual in it.. a fun transmission to use exspecialy in reverse:D Quote Selected
