Well say bye bye to the Coug :/

As most of you know, my cougar got damaged by hail back in August. Of course this was right after I had body work and paint done. Anyway the point is... I am sick of fixing this Cougar and having something happen to it. Last time I put new headlights new exhaust and had it running right when I first bought it. Then, I hit a deer...

$500 and a new front end later

it was good again

got it painted and body work done

hail...

I just think this one is cursed and its time to start on a clean slate.

No worries though!

I found a nice 86 XR7 thats in great shape and the dealer will take my coug as a trade. I know I have put well over $3,000 in the Cougar but I still don't have some key things that an XR7 does have.

Posi Rear
Floor Shifter
non-messed up body
buttstuffogue tach and speedo
Cool Black Tail Lights
Non ugly @ss Maroon or whatever interior

I may take off my turbines when I trade it just because I like turbines better than 10 holes.

Like I said even though I am taking a loss in the engine exhaust trans work there are so many great gains too that I CANNOT pass up.

I hope you guys understand!

I should be getting it this weekend, so more info and possible pics as available.

P.S. Probably Pulling the 4 cylinder right away and replacing it with a roller 5.0 so I might be able to sell some parts. That is still up in the air though as I may work on the 4 banger for a while

That's a shame Carl. I hope you have better luck with the new cat.

You're going to end up liking the 4-cylinder. I wouldn't feel so bad for  trading in your cougar for an xr7. I would even consider that an upgrade.

Yes, and those have 4 Cylinders. Same engine as yours minus intercooler. :hick:
