Keyless entry with remote

I have power door locks and the keyless pad on my door. Does anyone know of a "plug and play" type remote door lock system?

Best buy has all kinds of remote starters with door control. but several things are wrong with that.
1.best buy is touching my car... yeah right.

2.i could care less about remote start... the heater dosent kick on until you drive anyway.

3. these aftermarket systems have wires running every way across the car. it looks trashy, and will probably cause headaches down the road...

Does anyone know of a lincoln or merc system that will just plug into my car? I wouldnt mind having to buy new ford remotes for it, it would be worth having a "stock" type system in it.

I wouldnt think it would be too hard to plug a new system in, my keyless control box is wide open behind the back seat in the trunk.

I just want it to work like my grandmas 93 towncar lol.
1988 T-Bird LX- Awaiting HO build, Monster "Eat My Shift" AOD rated 550Hp. BBK ceramic shorties, Jegs mustang (catless) H-Pipe. mustang catback modified axle back for tbird, 94 17" Cobra wheels, 98 'Stang GT 8.8 Traction-lock

There is no such remote module that will just "plug in"... Remote modules are basically lumped into two groups, '92 -'97 & 98-up(with some overlapping '98 -'00)... Possibly they've changed again in the last few years, I really dunno... Remotes are NOT interchangeable and for the newer system are far cheaper and easier to obtain(generally cheap on ebay)...

I suppose with EVTMs for both systems, a adapter harness could be built or the later plug wired on... BUT your system has all the relays inside the controller, where as the late system uses a separate relay panel, not sure about the generation one system...

On a non keypad Bird(like mine), it's fairly easy to wire up a late module to the original relays... All the circuits necessary can be found near the glove box... When I installed mine(from a '98 Taurus), the controller was just siliconed to the heater plenum... Been in the car over five years, still works perfectly...

so basically youre saying i should bite the bullet and go aftermarket?

If i will have to make a new harness or rig it in there, I might as well just buy a viper keyless entry system with a warranty. I just thought the ford system would plug right in... It would be a nice stock addon down the road... oh well.

Totally up to you... BUT if you aren't good at reading wiring diagrams and willing to do a bit of expermintin', you prob ought to go with good aftermarket system with instructions...

Me, the main requirement was the late factory remotes that are easy to obtain and generally tough as nails... I've actually been considering piggy-backing a late module into the wifes '93 Grand Marquis(I have half dozen or so remotes for those and a late receiver)... After 15 years the originals are growing a bit long in the tooth... Main obstacle is it's mounted high in the dash, near the heater plenum and is generally a bitch to get to, or it would have already happened... The one in my Bird is starin' me in the face once I drop the glove box door...
