Stuck power seat track... common cause?

I finally just got a 'new' pair of power seat tracks for my TC.  I previously had a manual passenger seat and the drivers seat had been broke/welded (plus the rear up/down was stuck).

So anyway, I got two junkyard tracks.  Passenger one is REALLY slow going back, fine going forward but my biggest problem is the drivers seat won't go up or down in the front.  The motor engages and the inerior lights dim a bit (car off) but it won't move up or down.  I have a warrenty to swap it out with another seat track but it's a long drive to the JY and I was hoping that, since the motor is engaging, someone might have a couple quick ideas to free it up!...?

The gear threads might me jammed together. I've never taken those apart on our cars.
or Its a worm gear thats worn and has slipped out of the teeth of the other gear. you need to take it apart to see.
Thats all I could think of for the up and down motor.
Does it sound like its spinning or just humming or buzzing

Sounds like the motor is engaging but it can't turn.  Like when you stick a fork in a box fan and the motor tries to keep going... not that I've ever done that ;)  LOL

you probably have to take it apart if its possible and see whats jammed, but if it did it once, I'm sure It'll do it again.

Mabe someone else will know if it will come apart easy.
If not I'll look on mine tomorrow. there out of the car anyway
