power seat electrical problems Reply #1 – November 15, 2007, 07:34:56 PM Did you check the grounds good? If you have power going in in all directions, it might just be a bad ground. Quote Selected

power seat electrical problems Reply #3 – November 15, 2007, 09:54:33 PM just because you have a "good 12 volts" doesn't mean you are getting the AMPERAGE that each motor needs. one single strand of copper wire will carry 12 volts but not any amps. check for breaks in the harness. or a short to ground maybe on the seat track. Here at the jaguar dealership we mostly find short to ground under the track a pinched wire. good luck hope this was helpful. Quote Selected

power seat electrical problems Reply #5 – November 17, 2007, 11:42:57 AM The main seat harness plugs in under the console, then goes under the carpet to get under the seats. You already had the seats out, so you know where to hook them up there. Quote Selected
power seat electrical problems Reply #6 – November 18, 2007, 02:32:43 AM there is no fuse for power seats, a circuit breaker would be the safety link instead.on the driver seat........if you have 12v on the forward motor yellow/white and the red/white when the swtich is moved to forard, then you have an open circuit. No one wire is designated at the "power lead" as both become the power lead depending on the direction of which the switch is moved. The polarity is switched for reverse. When activating this option and you do have power on both wires, you do have an open ground.to test,,,verify you have power on the yellow/white, jumper the red/white to ground. Now move the in the direction that makes forward happen. If it moves,, you have just confirmed its an open ground. all the motors have a couple things in common ,, the switch , circuit breaker and a ground which is the black wire.See my DIY link for a diagram of the power seats.
