Shoot! Lost it :(

I tried bidding again but I couldn't type fast enough. I should have bid $15K to start with. They only made 271 in this color (little rarer then a 30th eh?).

I didn't get the 30th either. Too much rust/bodywork for me. That and it was missing all the "stuff" that makes it special (jacket, book, owner's manual, door emblems, dash emblem, etc).

I'll keep looking. :toilet:

That GTO was only a few miles from me. I could've driven it out to you if you would've won the bid :D :D

That's a strange looking T-bird! :flip:

I've narrowed my choices down to cars named for animals :hick:

Thunderbird, Cougar, Goat, Firebird, etc :D

There's a guy selling a '68 GTO that reminds me of the '69 GTO that I had as a kid. Every time I drive by his house, I get that "I want that" feeling again. :burnout: I wish they would come out with a GTO that actually looked like the musclecar that it always was.

If you want a real nice '04, a friend of mine is selling his Pulse Red / Anthracite. It's a 6-speed car with 6,400 miles on it. He is asking $19,500. It has three mods, cold air intake, skip shift eliminator & chromed wheels. also included is has another set of non-chromed originals with tires, and a car cover.
He is very buttstuff about keeping the car nice and I would bet it is one of the nicest examples you would find.

I dunno, the 05/06 "look" a HELL of a lot more like a GTO then the 64. Or 65. Or 73. Or 74.

364ci, 400HP, 400FtLbs, 6-Speed manual, 13.0's@108+ DEAD stock

It's faster then ANY GTO before it yet gets knocked over the 04's not having scoops.

Brent,
That's a sweet 04, and Pulse Red is the 3rd rarest color. Good price too! Too bad the better half said NO RED!! (Layla was a little too red :hick: )

They cancelled it. I agree, some of the GTO's then didn't fit my image of a GTO either. '69,'70,'71,'72 - love 'em. My 20th is my best replacement with a little more of the large car feel I like & a easy to build on platform. Rebuilding the 400 in the Goat was annoying as it was hard to find decent parts for it - though the guy at NE Speed practically gave me a set of forged pistons because he couldn't move them - so that explains a lot.

How things have changed! The 400 Pontiac (along with the AMC 401) are the biggest sellers of speed parts outside of small block Ford/Chevy these days! Edelbrock's aluminum heads started a revolution with every "offbeat" motor they do. It's nice to have options now!
