Where can I find these wires? Neutral switch, 88TC

I need to find the two wires for the neutral safety switch on my 88TC.    One side of the switch should link back into the EEC's 'signal return' circuit and the other connects to the 'nds/ngs' (?) circuit.  I was hoping someone might have some insight on where I could find these two (preferably the closest location to the computer).  It's the one circuit on my swap that I've been dragging my ass on and I'm finally gonna do it.  I've tried figuring it out but none of the diagrams I currently have even show the neutral switch for the TC.

Manual.  I figured it'd be that wire but now I'm wondering where I can tap into to and be on the correct side of the switch...

Also, there is supposed to be a wire (blk/wht on a mustang) that comes from the OTHER side of the neutral switch and goes to the computer.  My diagrams are kinda low quality so figuring out exactly how to complete this circuit is kinda tough...

Do 5-speed cars even have a neutral safety switch? I seem to remember the parts TC would start in gear (as would any other standard I'd ever owned), but the clutch has to be pressed. I also vaguely remember reading somewhere that although the T5 has provisions for a neutral safety switch it wasn't actually used in these cars.

Come to think of it, my Nissan truck didn't even have the clutch switch - you could start it in gear without pressing the clutch, and it was like that when brand new...

thats what i thought,, at the very least a clutch switch but perhaps there might be a N switch.  Newer cars dont seem to have it ,, all they have is a reverse switch for the most part.

this guys car has been power plant swapped ,, maybe the chassis harness is an auto but i think his previous setup was a TC with a T5.  If it was a TC with an auto, then this is the problem he is trying to figure out.

"factory TC chassis wiring" would be a nice addition to your sig booksix.  See, i told ya this kind of thing would always be cumbersom.

I don't know how a stock 5 speed car worked hooked up.. but if you hook up the Neutral safety switch and the clutch switch the car will only start with the shifter in neutral and the clutch pressed...

And if you need to get to these wires....  there is a connector that interfaces the wire bundle that goes to through the floor pan to the dash harness behind the radio and climate controls.  Behind that area find a wire bundle that comes through the carpet and find the connector it goes to..  about 6" from the floor pan.. That is all the wires that go to the transmission.

Oh and the T5 up too 93 had a Neutral switch on the top of the case.  94 up and did not have it.

oh yeah, i didn't even think of that, of course it starts in gear...  I just was thinking neutral switch because my cheap snap-on wiring diagram said this circuit for a manual went to the neutral switch and the auto went somewhere else (maybe they had it backward).  anyway, now that I feel like an idiot, I'll check out those diagrams!  thanks all

Sorry to be out of the loop (kinda busy the last few months working at a new job), but what are we converting from/to? A 94 Mustang that's been in the shop for way too long went from auto to manual, and the previous guys that worked on it swore there was no easy way to hook up a switch to the clutch pedal without running a bunch of new wires.

I went under the car, cut & shorted the old auto's "neutral switch" wires, went under the dash and unplugged the little "auto" jumper from the wiring bundle by the left kick panel, pulled the "manual" socket out of the same bundle, and plugged it into the clutch's switch. Took a whole 5 minutes, and now the clutch switch works like it should. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the TC has the same jumper and socket under there, considering even the Haynes manual shows jumpers....

I can attest to the TC harness having the jumpers for the clutch switch.

The one on the left of the "picture" does not need to be jumpered for the car to start but the one on the right of the "picture" does need to be plugged into a clutch switch or the jumper needs to be in.

ok, well it was never an auto so I don't think I'd have the jumpers...  but in either case, connecting this circuit to the neutral switch AND the clutch switch would not effect starting it in gear.  The reason I say this is: the wiring I'm adding just tells the computer the car is in or out of gear (so it will allow it to run the engine running tests) and doesn't effect the wiring from the ignition switch to the solenoid...

Anyway, yes, I know that plug behind the radio...  I'll check it out...    Now I'm just curious if it matters which way I wire this.  Meaning, one pin of the computer connects to one side of the switch, one pin to the other...  it's just a plain old open or closed switch right, so reversing the wires wouldn't matter...?

Also, I have a connector on the side of my 89 t5 (not top)...  it comes from the trans, comes to a 4 pin plug.  One the plug that connects TO it, two wires continue into the car and the other two pins connect in a short looped wire.

Maybe I'll highlight and scan my diagram...
