I had mine for the Scorpio done at a local place.  Didn't give me any issues about doing it.  Two other places said they couldn't though.

Don't forget to get the drive shaft annealed after the welding.

I cut down an Aerostar d/s.  You just have to be sure that you get the welded version and not the crimped one.

Not with a T-56 it won't be....Nate did the company screw you on the driveshaft for that thing?  I know you had length problems the first time....my buddy with the maverick may know a place...he was looking at getting an aluminum shaft made up for that...I'll give ya a ring sometime this week once I find out from him.

Good luck,

they made me measure it  and cut one based on the length i gave them instead of me telling them how long based on the difference between the mustang and Tbird shafts. i dont know if they changed the length a bit or what, but for christs sake i cant find anywhere around that will touch aluminum... wtf? how many people use aluminum drive shafts and not one place with in like an HR's drive from me will cut it... for dirt cheap i can pickup an aluminum mustang shaft, but i cant have mine cut anywhere... the best i got so far is some guy offered to make me a steel one for like $285.  what am i missing? :shoothead

o and btw, if i send it back and have them re-do it its going to cost an arm and a leg just for shipping, let alone the cost of the modification. and no, they wount fix it for free...:macgun:

Gotta love companies that screw up and don't want to take care of it...I think my buddy got a quote of like $200 for making an aluminum shaft from scratch...let me see what kind of connections I can make tomorrow...then I'll have to wait on some info from him...I'll definitely get back to you sometime this week.
