NASCAR TC nose Reply #9 – August 15, 2007, 08:28:39 PM If you get one, take lots of pics and let us know.I live a few miles from the Elliotts, and a few years ago borrowed a nose and made a mould. I then made a partial nose and grafted it onto a stock bumper cover and made a second mould. This is exactly how the first hundred or so noses were made in '87. One of the racecars in the Elliott museum has a nose of yellow urethane exactly like this. That car even has the regular header panel and grill, and headlights bondo'ed over and painted. Ernie told me that originally, Ford was going to release these to the public through the Motorsport catalog to fit a streetcar. Then the original company went out of business, Ford changed their mind(Michael Kranefus I think) and they went to a fiberglass and then a plastic racecar-only nose. I have never found any available, and know even the vintage guys looked a long time to find replacements.For a while Fivestar was making two piece plastic noses for dirt-track cars, but they were really short and I never bought one to try and fit to a streetcar. The actual airdam part was really short, and wouldn't have looked right grafted to a stock bumper cover.Now, up here in North Georgia, there was a special Bill Elliott Edition 87-88 T-Bird sold through dealers. It was red and white and had a Kamei GFX kit on it. I ran one of those airdams for a while on my car.Dave Quote Selected

It doesn't extend down enough to provide much benefit other than cosmetics.Someone should try it though. Quote Selected
