3.8 engine.... would it be a waste?

So I have this 87 v-6 cougar... the body is pretty much shot on it, the tranny is shot and its just not worth fixing.

However, it has a brand new engine with around 5,000 miles on it... like it got double digits on the Nox test... also put out no CO levels at all with a max of .85 possible on the emmisions test.

I'm going to junk the car, but I'm curious if there is any way to get more out of it for the engine...

Any idea's? or anyone want a brand new 84-87 3.8 v-6?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

If the engine is that new and still good, I'd say hang onto it! I wish we had some extra cash, as it would fit in the 84 (as of right now we don't know how the engine is going to be that is in it).
Just curious, how much would you want for it?

If you don't do anything with the engine, you gotta blow it up before you s it.

The car has two large dents on the top, looks like someone knocked over a telephone pole on top of it twice, the side rear window is busted out from when a car hit it right in front of the back wheel well, and both front fenders have large dents and the whole front end is torn up. just about the only thing good on the car is maybe the doors and maybe the back bumper. I would honestly guess the car has been wrecked at least 10 times.

I bought it for $300 in that condition when my black car got towed and needed to get around town...

i'll let the engine go for next to nothing if anyone wants it, might be a problem as far as shipping/pick up goes being as I'm in utah and everyone else is on the other side of the rockies...

I also came home to find out my rear window got busted out on "accident" by one of my freinds...

hmmm...... as far as the shipping goes, I might be able to arrange something, it helps to have a father-in-law who is a trucker. :D

We haven't had much chance to even go do anything more with the 84 since before Father's day (long story). I am hoping that the guys can get to work on it very soon.
