God Of War II....300

I bought it Sunday night, and beat it Monday night. Total of 9 hours played. Truly makes you think with some of the challenges in the game. All together a BADASS game. Plus I saw the movie 300 for the third time right before buying it. The God of War series is replacing my love for Resident Evil. I cant wait til GOW III.

Anyone else played it yet?

Who has seen 300? I thought it was absolutely AMAZING! So amazing I saw it two more times. I love the cinematography. Reminds me of the cutscenes from the first God of War. Personally I like studying about the Greek and Roman empires.

I have played the first GOW and me and a friend beat it in about 13 hours. And I haven't had a real meaning to see 300. I saw TMNT instead! lol I am a geek yes.

Greek and Roman history. Pretty much summed up with; "You're big. You're pen 15y. Beat up on everyone and rename the world to your liking, claiming these people as newfound countrymen, while occupying them. Wait, why are they revolting? Ah, !"

300 was pretty badass. I havent played GOW though...I've been on the PC side of things playing STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

I still don't believe that the Spartans had no body armor other than their shields...as far as I can tell, they usually had at least a breastplate. Either way, the movie didn't bore me unlike so many others.

It's not that big of a stretch. The Celts (Gauls) would charge into battle in the nude, and it usually worked. A well trained enemy force would drive them to panic, and they would lose their advantage in some cases, but it helped them sack Rome in 390BC. (the main excuse Ceaser used to beat Gaul into submission a few centuries later. He really did it to prove himself to the 'court' and the people of his militaristic society. He needed a good conquering under his belt)

The movie is based on a comic book, I wouldn't look to it for any historical accuracy.

I thought it was just an overall badass movie. I dont care about specific details. Studying that in HS was probably the best part of school. Playing GOW I just like how they incorporate Greek and Roman mythology into it. With the Gods, creatures, and specific people you hear tales about.

Actually it's based on the Battle of Thermopolis where 300 Spartans and assorted others held off thousands of Persians long enough for the Greek army to escape and fight another day.

The movie was based on the comic book, but the comic book was based on the battle itself. The fantasy aspects and other theatrical liberties aside, the core historical facts are there....

It was a beautiful thing to watch though...
