3.8 Headache!!!!

:punchballs:  :shoothead    My 3.8 suddenly took ANOTHER  on me! While driving at about35 mph it lost power and started sounding like a Wheel Horse lawn tractor! Then it started back firing through the exhaust. I started the process of elimination with the timing, plugs, wires,& fuel filter. everything was good. Due to lack of funds I'm now forced to try some parts from another T-bird. I have changed the TPS,EGR,Ignition mod.,even the EEC. All with no luck! It now will not run any longer than 15-20 sec. without stalling. If I unplug the single wire connector at the dist. it will idle without stalling, but it shakes & surges violently! Plug it back in, it stalls. I checked the trouble codes & came up with 83 & 14.

Do you have another distributator? The code 14 is a pip sensor code
that could equate to a bad pick-up coil in the distributator.

Yes, I have another distributor. I need to go to the parts store & get another rotor button. It has the screw on type, the one on it has the push on. Thanks alot!
