Car Dies At Intersections Help

alright so heres the problem, i'll be driving around, then ill hit a red light
or a stop sign and then all of a sudden my oil pressure drops to near nothing, my rpm drops to below 500 and all of my warning lights come on and the car stalls.  anyone have some advise on what i could do ?
the car is a
1994 mercury Cougar rx-7
3.8 f/i v6

You don't have a Fox Cougar so I can't offer any technical help. My guess would be to pull your codes and start from there.

TPS or IAC?

i'm not sure what tps or iac means, but if you would care to explain i'm sure i could give you an answer. and yea checking the codes was my last option, casue i'd rather fix it myself then pay someone to fix it for me

TPS = Throttle position sensor
IAC = Idle air controller

Checking codes should be the first thing you do. So that you arn't throwing unneccesary parts at the car. You can go to Auto Zone or some place like that and have them check the codes for free.

Like stated above you need codes.could be a simple sensor.

hey guys got the answer to my question, with one of your suggestions, it ended up being a sending unit for the computer and a very very low in gear idle (400rpm)  so when stopped in gear the computer would think the car had no oil, due to very low rpm's which lowers the oil pressure, so an oil change and a new sending unit fixed this problem for me, thanks for the suggestions.
