Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

I finally got a chance to start on my '83 T-Bird Heritage 5.0L.  When I got the car, there was a lot of oil underneath, although it registered in the safe zone on the dipstick.  I got the car up on jack stands and started to wipe everything down.  Most of the oil was on the left side but soaked everthing back to the catalytic converters.  While wiping down the engine, I noticed a sending unit with a wire to it above the oil filter and back from the mechanical fuel pump block off pate.  Is this the oil pressure sending unit?  The Haynes manual did not identify it.  If the oil filter was not the source of the leak, I am suspecting the sending unit - if that is what it is.  I changed the oil and filter, but have not had a chance to start it to see if the leak is cured.

Also, I noticed a small amount of coolant under the car and a few drops near the oil pan by the oil filter.  Is there a freeze out plug under the exhaust manifold in that area, or am I possibly looking at a leaking head gasket?

there are several freeze plugs along the block behind the headers.  there are also freeze plugs on the back of the motor and the front/rear of each head.

hope your block did not freeze.
