I'm not here to give you a hard time, But, this is why I suggested that you use the high pressure line and clamps, just for this exact reason. The pieces you got from ford are inserts to the newer lines and do not match up to the older lines. Red LX told you in his posting and I told you in my reply posting to you. that they're not made to come out and if you do get them out, they've been ripped out and can't be used again. The connection for the fuel line is no longer available from ford, the way it was. What is offered today is replacement parts for ford plastic fuel lines which are heat shrunk to fuel lines, which are different than the older ones. They[ford] want you to cut the fuel line, insert a metal spur that will hold the line and new fitting together and heat shrink together. This would be all well and good if the new fitting worked, but they don't fit the older metal lines well and tend to leak. And now just to show you that you realize that your first responce to me was totally out of place, I'm gonna do you 1 better. You need the two flexible lines that connect the metal fuel lines to the fuel rail, and you need them not to leak, right? I'll send you the lines for free, just send what I pay in postage to the turboford site as a donation. You don't even need to send it in my name, send it in your own. The owner's name is paul, he's also an administrator, so if you just send it to the board, he'll get it. Hmm, I'm confused. So the circular clips can't be removed and reused? Mine somehow came out and actually kind for went flying (maybe that was it breaking?), so I don't even know it's condition. Anyway, as for the pieces from Ford being newer inserts for newer lines; I thought shorangerbird was giving me an original Ford replacement part # for a part I could just pop in and be good.

As for your offer, I REALLY appreciate it, but this is a 5.0 swap I did about 7 years ago that I've been doing some more work on so your lines won't actually work. I took the 4 barb fittings for both sides of the lines to Ford and had them make me new, longer flexlines. Not sure now how I got them apart AND reused this retaining clip last time, but I did. So now my question, is there a different barb fitting with a simpler retaining clip that I can have put on my flexline that will work without modifying this particular hardline?

And one last thing, I had a profile before but something got messed up and I had to start over...just never got to it. But now that you bring it up, I'll try to do that. In the meantime, my name is Brett if you prefer that over booksix...

It's not so much that the circular clips can't be removed and re-used as it is the the piece inside the flex that the metal fuel line goes into that rusts to the metal line and becomes destroyed when you try to remove the metal line. The original replacement ford part numbers that you got from Shorangerbird are probabley good numbers, the problem is that they changed the part. Brett, I can't tell you how much this is iritating me. This is why I use high pressure fuel lines and clamps. I'm sick of talking about it, you can do anything you want. I have a 255 fuel pump and high pressure lines and clamps and have never lost a drop of fuel. If you want the the flex lines that connect to the fuel rail, fine, send me an address by pm and I'll send them. good luck bob5326

Hahaha, sorry Bob. I don't mean to irritate you at all. I think I was just kind of raised that certain things aren't right (even though they can be) and I'm kinda stubborn about it - just like my dad, ha! But if you're running a 255 and not having problems then perhaps I'll give it a try. Sorry again for all the excitement, but I'd rather have gone through all that if it meant I learned you know what your talking about rather than just doing it and risking that you were someone that didn't... Idk, long story short, I believe you and will give it a try if I don't get one in a day or two. Thanks again...
