86 to 87 conversion

I figured id take the best parts of both cars I have and make 1 unique bird But have a few questions.

I know the lower body line is differant by a little.

Will the 87-88 doors swap on the 86?

can the 87 rear bumper be modded to fit?

I swapped the front clip tonight So with the doors swapped it would only leave me the body line on the quarters to deal with.

The doors will physically bolt on, but the glass won't look right. The 87-88 has flush glass, the 83-86 is recessed, so the quarter window wouldn't match the door glass. Also the 87-88 has thin window trim while the 83-86 has thick stuff.

If I were to do it I'd cut the front lower portion of the 87-88 fender off and weld it onto the back half of an 83-86 fender. That way the front part would match the 87-88 trim on the bumper cover, and the rear part would match the door. It'd be easier than trying to modify the 86 quarter panel to match the 87 door and you wouldn't end up with the odd glass.

I'd like to some day do it the other way - four-eye front end on the 88 body. That way I'd get to keep the flush glass and round tail lights while having the more muscular looking front end. Since I'm putting a TC header and bumper on I doubt I'll ever do it though...
