Aluminum driveshaft???? January 12, 2007, 10:45:42 PM Anyone have a soloution to using an aluminum driveshaft in a 87-885.0L aod bird????Don't think anyone has come up with an exact fit but maybe a longer one that can be cut down re welded and balanced by a driveshaft shop??? Quote Selected

I don't even know if they make an aluminum yoke.I dunno if SN95's have the same length, or even if they're aluminum. I do remember a member of this forum having a Crown Vic Police Interceptor drive shaft cut down and welded though... Quote Selected

Reply #6 – January 13, 2007, 08:00:31 PM you can go to a place that works on big rigs and say you have a driveshaft thats too long, they can cut it down, weld it up, and balance it. my dad did that for his B-Cadet car. (had a 55 chevy rear subframe with a 78 camaro front subframe. had to have a custom driveshaft. of course he used a standard steel shaft but im sure they could do aluminum. Quote Selected
