So this has been bugging me for about two years and I've finally decided I want to do something about it. The drivers door on my Tbird sags about 1/16". It's not bad but the door dosen't line up quite right. How hard is it to change the hing bushing so it'll sit right in the door frame? I know I can push up on the door slightly and it'll sit right. Another question is where can I get the bushing so I can make it sit right. Only the driver's door does this because the previous owner only really used the driver's door. The passenger door was rarely used and so it sits fine.
I did it by myself on darkthunder. It's not too bad, I used a jack to keep the door up. You'll have to change the pin too as you will have to cut the old one out. It's best if you remove the hinge completely (one at a time of course) change everything out and put it back in. I have seen the kit at advance/autozone but I bought mine from a local mustang restorer.
I recommend doing it, I couldn't believe how well my door closed after that. :)

i just noticed my passenger door on the 84 cougar sits higher than the rest of the body lines next to it lol... whats up with that?
you can get the pins and bushings in a kit from advance auto. i stock them all the time it happens to a lot of T.B. and cougars the doors a f.ing heavy
We'll be changing the driver's side hinge pin on my youngest Son's 95 T - Bird soon. If you attend the September or October Chicagoland area meeting we can discuss it.
