Title: Foggin lights!
Post by: Free T-Bird on August 21, 2006, 05:01:11 PM
So I found an 86 tc at the yard yesterday (still with motor and turbo oddly enough) so I yanked out the fog lights which is the only part I really wanted off the thing,  now I've got to set it all up.  I have an 86 elan WITH a tc front end, so I've got the holes for the lights and mounting should just be a few holes drilled.

My questions are all about wiring and switches. This car was never meant to have fog lights so I figure I have a bit of a project ahead of me.

Starting with the switch, there is a spot next to where the antenna switch is, is this for fog lights?

Also is there any one who can give me any helpful hints or ideas or (best off) PICTURES as to how to accomplish this task?

Thanks!!!

Those look like nice Marchals. Let me know if you ever want to sell them. ;)

The spot for the factory fog light switch is on the far right of the headlight switch panel; it's the smaller opening.
You can c00ch the switch and wiring from a fog light car and wire it up, I suppose.
Be advised that the factory setup isn't very ideal. It would be a very wise move to install a 30-amp relay for the fog lights themselves, rather than have them pull from the switch.
This is what I've done and it seems to be very reliable. I love my Marchals.

Edit:
