HELP............  I need help with my air conditioner.  I have a 84 couger xr7.  When I turn the a.c. on the clutch on the front of the pump does not lock in.  I have removed the electrical fitting and tested it with my test light and it shows no power.  I use the ''icepick'' type tester with one end grounded.  If you could help I would appreciate any advise.
Yes, I start the car and set the temp for cold and the switch for A.C. and turn on the fan blower which works fine. the real problem is that the clutch does not get power to energize and make the pump run.  Reply here or to seajaycecil@yahoo.com or send you phone number and I will call you .................

Is there any refrigerant in the A/C system? If there's not, or if there's not enough, the pump will not run. If there is, you probably need a pressure switch (which, unfortunately, means you've got to let the refrigerant out again to replace it, IIRC)
