Post by: lowcat on December 23, 2004, 05:29:37 PM
In case anyone is interested, this is what my 3.8 sounds like with dual exhaust.

I have a stock 88 5.0 exhaust with dynomax ultra flow lers.

Either the sound quality of the clip is really py or the lers don't sound beefy because It sounded stock to me.

I've never heard a stock V6 sound that way.

The camera i used was pretty py. I originally had the camera alot closer but all you could hear was wind noise. After about 2500 rpm's it doesn't make much noise but at low rpm's it is pretty good sounding.

definately sounds very different than any stock v6 i have ever heard.  My friend has a 96 v6 mustang with stock 5.0 dual exhaust and it sounds like shiznit, but your car actually sounds good, maybe its the lers.

Best sounding 6 I've heard in I don't know how long.  Stock 5.0 Mustang or Cougar exhaust?

They are all stock 2" cougar pipes. What made the biggest difference was when I replaced the y-pipe with a new one. This new one only has the main catalitic converter on it instead of 2 precats and then the main cat. I noticed a big difference when I put it on, but it cost a lot, $251.

$251 for the Y or the whole thing?

It was $251 for part number 15754 which is the y-pipe that connects to the manifolds and the new converter.
