Title: brake conversion slightly TC related
Post by: gumby on August 11, 2006, 09:08:41 PM
not havin much luck sellin my 87 TC rear axle. so i pulled the LS unit out today to put in my ranger. while i was lookin at the disassembled axle, i started to wonder how i could use the brake parts to convert my ranger to rear disc and get rid of the stupid drums. :yuck:
both axles are small bearing 8.8's so they should utilize the same axle  pattern. i can adjust the depth of the caliper mounting to fit whatever rotor hat depth i can find.
so the question is what rotors are out there that are 10" diameter, and use a 5x4.5 bolt circle? preferably vented like the TCs stock rotors, but i can deal with a solid rotor if i need to.

I would think SN95 rear rotors would work for you :dunno:

You can redrill the TC rotor which is a PITA or go with SN95 rotors which are solid. Make sure to use the corresponding calipers. They don't interchange because of rotor thickness.
