After a complete revision of the car (that took me a month) i went to do a test run. Ran very good. Left the car for about 3 days. Started again in the morning and ran well. But when i was going to my home the car shut off when idle.....started again and run again at the third try. I Use the car for a new test run and shut down again at 80 km/h. Stop the car and at the fourth try run again. I revised the carb but has enough fuel. Run a very little time and the car shut down again. I was uphill and i push the car to my home (about 2 km, but with the impulse and downhill i raised a speed of 80 km/h !!!). When the car stops, i checked the fuel pump. Works good with enough pressure. Now i was trying to start the car with a different battery and was running well..........and die again. The car simply dies without a signal ! .The car can starts but it cant stay running. I guess that is a electrical problem. Any ideas ?
Any help would be very appreciated.....
Sounds like an ignition problem. Check the coil and the Duraspark box, they could be failing when they get hot
I had a problem where the car would die after a few miles and would refuse to start again for at least half an hour. I changed the coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and ignition module. The problem still remained, and it turned out to be the distributor stator. It was dying when it heated up, and so the computer couldn't sense the crankshaft position.
