Title: Carfax
Post by: matttherat on August 07, 2006, 08:14:30 PM
If anyone needs any VIN numbers looked up this month, my parents just got a moth of unlimited reports so I'd be happy to get you one.

It doesn't show that my cougar was in an accident, but I know it had to be. It has a new radiator and front clip when I bought it.

heh.

"Grain of salt", of course.

Feb 12 2005, mine was officially a "Total Loss", due to the cost of repairing the bashed LR fender vs. the average price of a comparable model. Check is in the bank, still driving it.

Jan 22 2006, Carfax reported:

ACCIDENT CHECK
Total Loss Check (OK) No Severe Accidents Reported by a DMV
Other Accident Indicators (OK) No Accident Indicators Reported

They only show what they've been told.

We tried to look up my Bird on Carfax before I bought it but the previous owners wouldnt disclose any information about the car.  I may never know if something happened to my car. :P
